Guestbook

What an amazing find this is! Sleeping 4, we stayed for a week in March2024 with our two dogs. The Cottage is fully equipped - a wide selection of amenities are provided, even down to the spare dog towels for our 4-legged friends. The cottage has a good WiFi connection, along with a Smart TV and freeview for the cooler evenings in front of the log burner, with an unlimited supply of wood and kindling provided.

If being “away from it all” is your thing, this cottage is the ideal spot. Situated at the western end of Loch Rannoch, approximately 4 miles from Rannoch Station (and tearoom!) you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of modern life to forget your troubles and relax. There is an abundance of wildlife on your doorstep, and the views are stunning.

Kim and Andy are the perfect hosts – living next to the Cottage so they are on hand if needed, but not at all intrusive. They can offer a wealth of local advice, from local walks and bike rides, to the nearest café and tearoom.

Angela Smith,

This was my second visit to Granary Cottage and had yet another wonderful week. This cottage is so welcoming, excellently equipped and much much more besides….there is nothing to want. Fantastic location for exploring, quiet, peaceful, and tranquil. Kim is an amazing host who makes you feel so welcome. I cannot rate this place enough. Thank you Kim and see you soon.

Lorinda Pearson,

Granary Cottage is set in one of the most stunning areas we have travelled to. Knowing we could be out all day exploring the hills, forests or Lochs ( whatever the weather) and return to a very well equipped and cozy cottage, made the holiday so relaxing and enjoyable. It wasn’t cold but we made good use of the endless supply of fire wood most evenings ! We were greeted by Kim on our arrival and shown around the cottage. The kettle went on and we tucked in to the home made vegan shortbread biscuits she had made us. This was such a lovely, personal touch. Inside there was lots of information on the surrounding area and ideas of what to do and where to go. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, even think the WiFi signal was better than at home !! Can’t wait to be back with you next year.

Jane Davis,

Visited this amazing, wonderfully equipped little cottage with my family in September. Such a fantastic location, Views to die for, long or short walks/hikes in the forests, hils and moors, wild swimming in the loch, even wild ice skating when the conditions are right in the winter, (think you'll need your own skates!) cycling, bird and wildlife watching in and around Rannoch. The list is endless. Bigger towns like Pitlochry and Fort William are easily accessible by train or road and great for a bit of retail therapy if that's more your bag 😉 and a visit to The House of Bruar is a must if that's what you like. Comfy and cosy accomodation, slept like a baby the whole week. Just a fabulous place to cleanse mind body and soul.

Kay Poole,

I’m afraid to say that the pictures on the website don’t do Granary Cottage justice! This beautiful super-dog-friendly cottage is amazing!
The upfront information from Kim was so useful and a big thanks to Andy for all the local info. Everyone we met at Kenaclacher was welcoming and helpful, it really made a difference.
The cottage is very spacious and extremely comfortably furnished, Kim has thought of everything even down to a tick remover for the dogs! Throw in the fantastic weather that we had for most of the week and it made for the perfect holiday….only downside was that we had to leave!! But a return visit is definitely on the cards!

Angus Mackay & Laura Kynoch,

Absolutely wonderful!

A perfect location, such a tranquil place with the moor above and the loch below. The cottage was immaculate and really well equipped - even a stove top espresso machine (used daily) and an electric whisk (no cakes baked this time). It was a pleasantly warm 20 degrees when we visited but we still enjoyed a lovely fire each evening.

For children we enjoyed a cycle around the loch and paddle boarding on the loch and down by the bridge in the village.

Thoroughly recommended!

David MacDonald,

Amazing. So tranquil.

3 days at no2 and could not have been more relaxing and just what we needed. Andy and Kim could not have done anymore for us - from booking to leaving, so helpful.

We are booked for autumn / winter!

Thank you.

Kevin Devaney,

Just back from a fantastic stay at Granary Cottages. Everything in the cottage has been carefully thought out - from the muddy-boot-friendly entrance hall to the calm-but-cosy decor and unlimited logs for the stove. We were glad we took Kim's advice and placed an Asda order to arrive before we did. The cottage is a long way from a shop so you need to be well prepared. The area is fantastic for walking, with several routes available from the doorstep or Munros within easy driving distance. Make sure you have cake in the Rannoch Station tea rooms - gigantic slices! The weather was good enough to use the outdoor space and BBQ - bring midge spray! We also made a day trip to Fort William by train. Kim and Andy couldn't do enough to help and we loved being in a dog-friendly cottage. We will definitely be back - maybe when it's cold enough to light the wood burner!

Jo and Steve,

We had a brilliant weekend staying at Granary Cottage. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, and includes everything you could need for a relaxing break. The cottage is wonderfully located including a garden with wonderful views of the surrounding hills. Kim could not have been any more welcoming and helped make our stay even more wonderful.

Alistair Thompson,

Granary Cottage can only be described as outstanding. We had a two day stay and only wish we had been able to stay longer. The whole cottage is simply stunning with a wood burner and everything you need for your stay. In addition the hosts Kim and Andy cannot do enough to help you. Very knowledgeable about all aspects of the surrounding area. A*** First class - very highly recommended. Lorinda and John - Cornwall.
